Produced in limited numbers during the early 1980s, the Gibson Firebird II Artist combines the striking reverse body profile of the Firebird with high-end appointments and onboard active Moog circuitry. This 1981 example features a vibrant Sunburst finish over a bookmatched curly maple carved top, framed with cream body binding and paired with a solid mahogany back and set neck.

The onboard electronics package includes two full-size Gibson humbuckers paired with an active preamp system managed by two mini-toggle switches for expansion, compression, and active tone shaping alongside master controls. Hardware includes a Tune-o-matic bridge paired with a Gibson TP-6 fine-tuning tailpiece, six-in-line Grover tuners on the sculpted headstock, and the signature white pickguard bearing the red Firebird graphic.

Please note: this guitar has had a previous headstock crack repaired behind the nut and volute area. The repair is structurally stable with visible glue lines and finish touch-up around the fracture. The instrument shows normal cosmetic play wear including light surface scratches and edge marks consistent with vintage player wear.
