This Kalamazoo KG-11 showcases a unique sunburst finish on a ladder-braced spruce top. Each sunburst pattern from this era has its own character, and the early versions typically featured a very dark finish with a concentrated yellow center. This particular KG-11’s finish fades beautifully from solid black to a deep red and then transitions into a darker orange. The mahogany back and sides are deeply stained, highlighting the natural grain with a subtle reddish tint. Known for their substantial neck profiles, guitars from this period often had a larger shape, and this KG-11 boasts a pronounced "V" neck with strong shoulders. The Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is richly dark with fine red streaks and a tight grain pattern.
