This is a 2020 Limited Edition Fender Custom Shop ’60 HS Telecaster Custom Heavy Relic, finished in Aged Seafoam Green over 3-Color Sunburst. Custom-built by Fender’s finest craftsmen in Corona, California, it is a genuine Limited Edition instrument—not a standard production model—and comes complete with its original Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, and Shop Floor Traveler.

The Shop Floor Traveler reveals just how thoughtfully this guitar was built. Its double-bound ’60 Telecaster Custom body is constructed from two-piece select alder and finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. The heavy relic treatment exposes portions of the underlying 3-Color Sunburst beneath the Aged Seafoam Green, giving the guitar the appearance of a treasured vintage refinished instrument that has spent decades being played.

The neck begins with an AA flame, quarter-sawn maple blank finished in Dark Tint nitrocellulose lacquer. It is paired with a dark-sorted, AAA-grade, 9mm round-laminated rosewood fingerboard featuring a comfortable 9.5-inch radius, 21 narrow-tall 6105 frets, wide-spaced white Micarta face dots, and a genuine bone nut. Fender specified its substantial ’59 Large “C” profile at .860 inch at the first fret and .980 inch at the 12th fret. Our measurements are approximately .89 inch and 1.00 inch respectively, with a measured nut width of 1.69 inches. It fills the hand beautifully without feeling excessively bulky.

The heavy relic work is pure Custom Shop artistry. The moment you wrap your hand around the neck, the guitar feels familiar and broken in—there is no stiffness and no sense of fighting the instrument. The early-’60s truss rod construction, vintage Fender-logo tuners, four-bolt mounting, ’60-style Telecaster headstock, and period-correct decal complete the vintage experience. The neck is straight, and the truss rod turns properly in both directions.

Tonally, this guitar is ridiculously versatile. The neck position houses a relic-treated, four-conductor Seymour Duncan SH-55 Seth Lover humbucker, delivering warm, open, and articulate tones that sing for leads while cleaning up beautifully. Fender even gave the body a specialized seventh-harmonic neck-humbucker route. At the bridge is a Fender hand-wound Texas Special Telecaster pickup, providing the unmistakable snap, bite, and authority players expect from a great Tele—bright and lively without becoming thin or harsh.

The dual-stack HS Telecaster controls allow the two very different pickups to work together naturally. You can move from smoky jazz and rich blues to gritty classic rock and unmistakable Tele twang in seconds. It is the kind of guitar that encourages you to keep playing much longer than you intended.

Other factory details include a relic-treated 1958–63 Telecaster bridge with threaded steel saddles, chrome-and-nickel hardware, a vintage Tele output cup, an engraved Limited Edition neck plate, a relic tortoiseshell pickguard with a black humbucker surround, and a double-bound body.
