The 2003 Washburn Dime 333 Trendkill is one of the most visually unmistakable guitars from Washburn’s celebrated Dimebag Darrell Signature Series. Its enormous ML-style body, aggressive lines and wild “Trendkill” camouflage-and-skull artwork capture the uncompromising attitude associated with Dimebag and Pantera. Washburn’s period literature describes the Dime 333 platform with a 24.75-inch scale, rosewood fingerboard, dual high-output Washburn humbuckers, Grover tuners and a Washburn-licensed Floyd Rose locking tremolo...everything needed for crushing rhythm work, screaming harmonics and extreme dive-bombs. The familiar three-knob layout provides individual pickup volume controls and a master tone, allowing the player to make fast tonal adjustments without getting in the way of the performance.
This particular 2003 Trendkill edition is much harder to come across than the standard DimeSlime, DimeBolt and Blackjack versions of the Dime 333. It combines the unmistakable feel of Dimebag’s signature guitar with artwork inspired by one of Pantera’s heaviest and most ferocious eras. The extended body wings give it tremendous stage presence, while the relatively compact scale and slim-playing neck make it comfortable for fast riffs, wide bends and rapid lead work.
