1977–78 Fender Stratocaster in Natural Ash — Serial S899846

A handsome late-CBS-era Stratocaster straight out of Fullerton, wearing the full vintage uniform: big '70s headstock with decal serial S899846, three-bolt Micro-Tilt neck joint, bullet truss-rod adjuster, and F-stamped chrome tuners. The bold-grained ash body is finished in a glassy Natural gloss polyester that has ambered beautifully, paired with a gloss maple neck with walnut skunk stripe and a rosewood fingerboard with cream dots — 25.5" scale, vintage 7.25" radius, 21 frets.

Electronically it's the classic late-'70s recipe: three staggered-pole single-coils in a black 3-ply guard, five-way switching, master volume and two tones, through-body strung into a vintage synchronized tremolo with bent-steel saddles. Ash-plus-rosewood gives this one a uniquely bold voice — bright snap and shimmer on top, warm bloom underneath, and huge sustain thanks to the dense, period-correct 8 lb 9 oz body (verified on our scale).

Offered in above-average original condition for a nearly 50-year-old guitar: strong gloss, clean frets, honest light play wear and nothing needing attention. A great-looking, great-playing piece of late-'70s Fender history — ready for the stage or the collection.

Weight: 8 lb 9 oz (3.88 kg)
