The Ibanez DT870 is a solid body electric bass from the Destroyer series, first introduced in 1984 as part of the X series, known for its sharp, angular design. Crafted in Japan, this bass features a basswood body paired with a maple neck and a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, complete with Pearloid triangle inlays and a matching headstock. The bass is equipped with a set of Super pickups and offers controls including two volume knobs, a tone knob, a rear Tri-sound switch for the pickups, and a 3-way toggle switch. Other notable components include an Accu-cast B II bridge, gold hardware, a plastic nut, and Smooth Tuner B-II machine heads. Production of the DT870 ended in 1986.
