Up for sale is a killer late-‘70s Marshall Super Lead that brings the thunder. This isn’t your average reissue — it’s the real deal from 1977, as confirmed by the serial number ending in “J.” You’ll notice the larger Marshall logo and rocker switches, both of which were introduced in 1976, making this part of that iconic transitional era. Some folks might mistake the “A” in SL/A as a date code, but that actually stands for Super Lead Amp — the actual date is in the serial.
Unlike earlier 1970 units that had Bulgin plugs, toggle switches, and plexi-style boards, this one is rocking the ST-1 circuit board introduced in 1973 and used all the way into the early JCM-800 era. This amp roars like only a true ‘70s Marshall can, with that raw, aggressive tone that defined a generation of rock.
It’s got the look, it’s got the sound, and it’s got the history. Don’t miss your chance to own a real piece of Marshall legacy — amps like this are only getting harder to find.
This amp is available for local pickup only. It’s a solid amp that you will enjoy. It sounds great and has been tested. If you are seriously interested in having this amp shipped (if you’re outside of the Northern California area, feel free to Google “GuitarFinds” and reach out to discuss possibly shipping. But please note, at this time we very much are against shipping amps ( They tend to get banged around when they’re shipped). This one has a master volume mod, so you can crank the gain and let the tubes really sing without shaking the walls down.
So if you’re local in the Northern California area, feel free to reach out and you can check it out in person!
Thank you!
