Up for sale is a rare and stunning Moonstone acoustic guitar—hand-built in California by renowned luthier Steve Helgeson, founder of Moonstone Guitars. Known for their impeccable craftsmanship and use of exotic woods, Moonstone guitars are boutique instruments built in small batches during the 1970s and ’80s, making them incredibly hard to come by today. This particular example features a beautifully aged natural top, a dramatic flamed maple back, and a deeply worn mahogany side that oozes vintage mojo. The custom crescent moon inlay on the headstock and the swooped bridge design are signature touches that showcase the artistry behind the brand. This guitar has the battle scars of a guitar that has seen many campfires and jam sessions. It even has a Barcus Berry output jack (however we don't have a way to test it), so assume it does NOT work. If anyone has additional information on this road worn beauty, that would be MUCH appreciated, as I couldn't find much info online about Moonstone acoustic guitars from the early days.

The neck is straight and the truss rod turns both directions, and it plays smoothly up and down the fretboard. Whether you're a collector, a session player, or someone looking to own a true piece of California guitar-making history, this guitar delivers. It’s not just a looker—it sounds incredible, with that dry, woody tone you only get from decades of natural aging. Don’t miss your chance to own one of the few surviving Moonstone acoustics out there. Once it's gone, it's gone!
